Client SEO Audit Report Template (What to Include and How to Present It)

Published 2026-10-05 · Seotific Team

A good audit report is not a data dump. Clients read the first page and skim the rest, so structure it for decisions.

1. Executive summary (one page)

Overall score or health rating, the three biggest problems in plain language, the expected benefit of fixing them, and what you need from the client.

2. Prioritised findings

Group by impact: critical (indexing, canonicals, redirects), important (titles, headings, internal links), minor (cosmetic). For each finding give the affected URLs, why it matters, and the specific fix.

3. Evidence

Screenshots, counts and example URLs. Link to the full data in an appendix rather than the main body.

4. Progress since last audit

New issues, fixed issues and regressions. Clients value seeing the score move and the list shrink.

5. Action plan

A 30-60-90 day plan: quick wins first, then structural work, with owners and rough effort.

6. Appendix

Full URL-level export, methodology and definitions.
